New Kobe Bryant mural in LA features Olympic logo. Unveiled for his 46th birthday, it celebrates his role in securing the LA 2028 Olympic Games.

A Kobe Bryant mural has been unveiled in Los Angeles, featuring an Olympic logo. The striking design, located outside Hotel Figueroa near Crypto.com Arena, showcases Bryant’s image on both sides of a building. In the middle, a banner displays the LA 2028 Olympic logo, the motto "No Time To Lose," and a prominent Nike swoosh.

The mural was unveiled to commemorate what would have been Kobe Bryant’s 46th birthday on August 24, a date now recognized as "Kobe Bryant Day" or "Mamba Day" in honor of his Lakers jersey numbers 8 and 24.

Bryant was a key figure in U.S. basketball, winning Olympic gold medals in 2008 and 2012. His performance was instrumental in revitalizing the U.S. men's basketball program, which had struggled with a bronze medal in the 2004 Olympics. Bryant’s influence extended beyond the court; he was a significant advocate for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, playing a pivotal role in the city's successful bid. In 2017, he gave the final pitch in the bid presentation to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

In a recent video published on August 12, Vanessa Bryant shared her thoughts on Kobe's involvement. She revealed that Kobe had been eager to support the effort to bring the Games to LA, responding with an enthusiastic "yes" when approached. Vanessa expressed her pride in how Kobe’s legacy will be part of the LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic story, highlighting his excitement and commitment to the city's bid.
