Jimmy Kimmel humorously advises Sebastian Stan to keep his Romanian citizenship in case Trump wins. Discover their banter about the upcoming film The Apprentice!

Jimmy Kimmel is playfully advising Sebastian Stan, known for his role as a young Donald Trump in the upcoming film The Apprentice, to keep his options open in case Trump wins the presidency again. During a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late-night host humorously suggested that Stan might need to return to Romania if Trump secures victory in the upcoming election.

Kimmel asked Stan if he still held Romanian citizenship, and upon confirmation, he quipped, “Good, because you’re probably gonna have to go back there if he wins.” Stan responded with a laugh, saying, “Hey, you know what man? In this life… you gotta have an honest living. That’s the most important thing.”

In their discussion, Stan shared his unique experience of moving to the U.S. at a young age. He recounted seeing bananas for the first time, explaining that they were not available in Romania during the communist era. “I saw bananas for the first time! Or palm trees! Which you didn’t see in New York,” he added.

Kimmel later joked that if Trump were to win, Stan might have to say goodbye to bananas again, teasing, “No more bananas for you!”

Directed by Ali Abbasi, The Apprentice depicts a young Trump (played by Stan) as he collaborates with lawyer Roy Cohn (portrayed by Jeremy Strong) to carve out a successful career in 1970s New York City. The film also features Maria Bakalova as Trump’s late ex-wife, Ivana Trump, and includes actors like Martin Donovan as Fred Trump and Catherine McNally as Mary Anne Trump. Trump’s campaign has even hinted at potential legal action against the film.

Kimmel knows well the consequences of crossing Trump, having had a long-standing feud with him. Recently, Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney, joined in on the banter, delivering a message to Trump during her appearance on the show, urging him to “go to Mar-a-Lago” and “spend all day cheating at golf and masturbating to Newsmax while letting a competent woman take over.”

The Apprentice is set to premiere in theaters on October 11. Fans can catch Kimmel and Stan discussing the film in a clip from the show.
