Victoria Jackson, the comedian best known for her role on Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1992, has shared a poignant update with her followers. Jackson, who has previously battled breast cancer, revealed that her cancer has returned, and she now has an estimated three years left to live.
In a recent video posted on Instagram, titled "Is the Cancer Back?", Jackson explained her current situation. She mentioned that doctors are unable to remove the tumor, described as a "marble" pressing on her windpipe, which could lead to suffocation. Instead, she is taking a medication designed to reduce the tumor. Jackson noted that online sources indicated this drug typically allows patients to live around 32.6 months, although she mentioned having about 34.8 months left.
Jackson, aged 65, also reflected on her life in the video, recounting a strange experience where she felt as if God was asking if she was "ready to come home." She described this as a casual, rather than urgent, inquiry.
The former UHF and Baby Boom star has been a controversial figure, previously protesting a Pride parade and criticizing a Glee episode featuring a same-sex kiss. Despite her current health struggles, Jackson shared positive personal news, such as the upcoming birth of her grandson and her hope to see her daughter have more children.
Jackson expressed that while everyone is facing mortality, seeing a specific timeframe for her life has been a profound experience. Nevertheless, she concluded that she would not change anything about her life.
