Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green have differing memories of their past interactions, especially when it comes to their brief romantic history. During a recent appearance on Spelling's misSPELLING podcast on November 4, she recalled an intimate moment they shared at a Fox event at Disneyland, where they spent the night together. However, Green wasn’t as certain about the details.
"Wasn’t it at Shannen’s house?" Green asked, referring to their late Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Shannen Doherty, who passed away in July after battling cancer. Spelling, seemingly embarrassed, admitted she felt like "such a stupid girl" for forgetting the exact details, but Green reassured her it was fine.
Green, who played David Silver opposite Spelling’s Donna Martin on the show, said, “I remember other times, but I do not remember that time at all. I don’t know how that’s possible." Spelling, however, insisted that Green had expressed his love for her during that encounter, and they even shared a public kiss. She added, “And then you’re like, 'Do you want to get out of here?'” comparing the moment to something out of a John Hughes movie.
Spelling's first confidant about the romantic encounter was their close friend and fellow 90210 castmate Jennie Garth, who played Kelly Taylor. The two women have maintained a strong friendship over the years.
Both Spelling and Green agreed that they shared an undeniable bond, often with a romantic undertone. Green described their connection as "a strange chemistry, like a sexual chemistry that we would kind of tease each other with a little bit." Though their relationship was never fully defined, Green emphasized that they had a deep, complex connection beyond simple dating. “We covered the gamut of what a relationship could be,” he explained, adding that calling it "dating" felt like an oversimplification.
Though the two were once close, their romantic entanglements with others led them to lose contact for nearly 18 years. They revealed this in an August interview on Green’s Oldish podcast. Both Spelling and Green reunited for the 2019 Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot, BH90210, in which the original cast members played fictionalized versions of themselves, navigating the idea of reviving their iconic show.
