Tori Spelling is set to join the cast of Dancing With the Stars for its upcoming 33rd season. Before confirming her participation, she sought advice from Brian Austin Green, a former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star who competed on the show’s 30th season.
Spelling shared with Entertainment Weekly that she called Green for his opinion, and he enthusiastically supported her decision, despite the challenges of the show. Green described the experience as grueling but ultimately rewarding, saying it would be one of the best experiences of her life.
Green’s participation in Season 30, where he and his partner, now fiancée Sharna Burgess, finished in 13th place, followed other Beverly Hills alums like Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, and the late Shannen Doherty who had previously appeared on the show.
Spelling also reached out to Burgess for advice. As a long-time professional dancer on the series, Burgess recommended Pasha Pashkov as the ideal partner for Spelling, a suggestion that proved accurate when Pashkov was announced as her partner.
During their rehearsals, Pashkov expressed his excitement about working with Spelling, noting how surreal it was to meet someone he had grown up watching on TV. He emphasized the unique bond formed through the intense preparation process, which involves long hours and shared experiences.
Pashkov praised Spelling’s dedication, highlighting her ability to balance her demanding schedule as a mother of five with her commitment to the show. He appreciated her focus during their rehearsals, as they prepare for the upcoming premiere.
Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars will debut on September 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, with episodes available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
