Audio glitch delays The War and Treaty’s performance at the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, causing a brief pause before they sing 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)'.

During the 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a technical problem with the audio caused a delay in the performance of the Grammy-nominated duo The War and Treaty.

Following the introduction by NBC anchors Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, and Hoda Kotb, the husband-and-wife duo, Michael and Tanya Trotter, took their positions on a festive float featuring a hand-crafted carousel. However, despite the cameras rolling, no music played.

The Trotters stood silently, looking around as the broadcast continued. After a few moments, crew members' voices were audible in the background.

Back at the anchor desk, Kotb quickly addressed the issue, telling viewers that these things happen and they were working on getting the music back. Guthrie reassured the audience that the performance would be worth the wait, highlighting the band's talent.

Once the show returned from a commercial break, the audio was restored, and The War and Treaty proceeded to perform their version of Darlene Love's Christmas classic, "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)."

The 2024 parade also had other mishaps, such as a title card error that incorrectly identified Sesame Street star Olivia Perez as Lea Salonga, and a Riverdance performer who slipped and fell during the rainy conditions in New York City.
