Joshua Morrow, a long-time star of The Young and the Restless, recently marked a significant career milestone—though it wasn't related to the soap's impressive 13,000th episode. His son, Crew Morrow, has landed a role on the CBS sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. Joshua expressed surprise at his son's career choice, recalling that he once envisioned Crew as a star lacrosse player in college. Initially skeptical about the difficulties of acting, Joshua was amazed when Crew secured a role almost immediately.
He described Crew as "very driven," with aspirations that extend beyond acting; Crew also writes scripts and aims to make a mark in the entertainment industry. Addressing the issue of nepotism, Joshua stated that his fame does not influence Crew's success, emphasizing that his son is far more talented than he was at that age. Although he acknowledged that Crew likely had a slight advantage when auditioning, he confidently asserted that Crew is charting his own path in the industry.
This isn’t the first time family members have appeared on rival soap operas. For instance, Joshua Benard, son of Maurice Benard from General Hospital, has made guest appearances on the same show where his father has played the role of Sonny Corinthos for nearly three decades. Similarly, Laura Wright and Wes Ramsey met on Guiding Light and later starred together in General Hospital.
Joshua Morrow expressed disbelief at the turn of events that led Crew to follow in his footsteps. Just a year ago, he wouldn't have imagined Crew becoming part of a soap opera, but now he couldn't be prouder of his son's accomplishments.
Having joined The Young and the Restless in 1994, Joshua Morrow has been a staple of the show, portraying the complex character Nicholas Newman, who has been involved in a legendary romance with Sharon Case’s character, Sharon Newman. Their on-screen family dynamics have evolved over the years, and given the history of crossovers between the two soaps, there are exciting possibilities for future collaborations between the Morrow family.
New episodes of The Young and the Restless air weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS, followed by new episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful at 1:30 p.m.
