Michael Bublé joins The Voice season 26 as a new coach, emphasizing mentorship over competition. Catch the season premiere on September 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

Michael Bublé is bringing serious commitment to his role as a coach on The Voice season 26, despite his playful Instagram claim of being the “future winner” of the show. For Bublé, this season is more than just a competition; it's about making a meaningful impact on the contestants' lives.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bublé shared his passion for guiding aspiring artists. He expressed that, as a seasoned musician and entertainer, helping others achieve their dreams is incredibly fulfilling. Bublé, who previously served as an advisor on Team Blake in season 3, is now stepping up as a first-time coach. He joins Snoop Dogg, a fellow newcomer, along with veteran coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani.

Bublé emphasized that while The Voice is a television show with a competitive element, the coaches view it as a serious responsibility. "We know that each of these people is pursuing their life’s dream," he explained. "We take our role in their journey very seriously, understanding that it's not just a game."

As a new coach, Bublé and Snoop Dogg are focused on mentorship rather than just judging. “We are coaches, not judges,” Bublé said. “Our goal is to use our experience and passion for music to help these artists grow, rather than just competing to find a winner.” He highlighted the importance of empathy and connection with the contestants.

The season promises some surprising moments, including unexpected preferences from Snoop Dogg for country music and intriguing one-chair turns for Team Reba. Bublé noted how Reba McEntire’s experience and keen ear for talent have led to surprising outcomes, even among one-chair turns that left the other coaches astonished.

As for who might lead their team to victory, Bublé believes any coach could emerge as the winner. "There's no clear frontrunner," he said. "Each of us has built a strong team, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the winner comes from Snoop’s team, Reba’s, Gwen’s, or mine."

The Voice season 26 kicks off on Monday, September 23, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
