Currently, the only way to experience Apple Intelligence features on an iPhone is with the iPhone 15 Pro. However, it’s expected that the entire iPhone 16 series will include these features this fall. Additionally, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts that the iPhone SE, slated for release as early as early 2025, will also have them. If this prediction is accurate, it might make Apple’s most affordable phone even more appealing.
Historically, the iPhone SE has been a budget-friendly option offering decent performance with a dated design, most recently based on the iPhone 8. It has been clear that it serves as Apple’s economical choice.
Recent rumors suggest that the next iPhone SE will adopt the design of the iPhone 14, replacing the outdated iPhone 8 features like the forehead, chin, and home button. The new SE might even include a 6.1-inch OLED screen. With Apple's AI features requiring more power than the iPhone 15 can provide, the upcoming SE is expected to be both powerful and modern.
While the upcoming iPhone 16 is anticipated to have additional features like dual cameras and the 15 Pro’s action button, these may not be present on the iPhone SE. The question remains: if the next SE resembles an iPhone 14 in design, performs similarly to the iPhone 16 lineup, and maintains its budget-friendly price, will consumers still choose more expensive models for their extra features? We may find out soon.
