Heels, starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig, joins Netflix on September 15. Discover if the acclaimed series finds new life before WWE RAW arrives in 2025.

The wrestling series, starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig as siblings striving to take their Georgia-based wrestling promotion to new heights, will be available on Netflix starting Sunday, September 15. This acclaimed show is joining the platform before it officially becomes the home of World Wrestling Entertainment's RAW in January 2025.

Originally debuting on Starz in August 2021, Heels built a loyal fanbase despite its cancellation after the second season, a decision announced in September 2023 that disappointed many fans. At that time, showrunner Mike O'Malley expressed his optimism about the show finding a new platform, commenting, "I genuinely believe it will continue to thrive somewhere else." O'Malley, who also stars as Charlie Gully, a charismatic promoter for the Florida Wrestling Dystopia league, remained hopeful about the show's future.

Bringing the Heels cast back for a third season is not without its difficulties. For example, Amell is set to star in Suits: LA for NBC, which is scheduled to premiere in the 2024-2025 TV season. Despite these challenges, O'Malley has not lost hope.

"Everyone connected with the show wants to see more episodes," O'Malley says. "The success of Suits: LA could drive more people to watch Stephen’s work on Netflix. Producing a season of Heels is demanding, but there are breaks in filming that could be used."

Netflix has a track record of rescuing canceled shows (e.g., You, Manifest, Lucifer, Longmire, Designated Survivor). Fans were left on edge at the end of season 2, where Jack Spade, played by Amell, faced a major health scare during a crucial match.

"Netflix is very practical," O'Malley adds. "If the show attracts a large audience, there’s a real possibility for more episodes. If not, it may not continue. The cast delivers such authentic and genuine performances, and it's fantastic that more viewers will have the chance to see them on this platform."
