Stunning Blackrock House with panoramic golf views is up for sale for £1.5M. Experience Open Championship action from home. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

From the windowsill of Blackrock House, the view is breathtaking: the Firth of Clyde stretches out, with the Isle of Arran in the distance, and just a stone's throw away, Tiger Woods is seen tapping in for par.

During the Open Championship at Royal Troon in South Ayrshire, Scotland, this property has offered its owners a front-row seat to the world's top golfers without them having to leave their home.

For avid golf fans, this could soon be your chance to own this unique property, priced at £1.5 million ($1.93 million). Viewings will start after the winner of the 152nd Open Championship is announced on Sunday. According to estate agent Strutt and Parker, this sale represents "a once in a generation opportunity" to own "one of the best houses in golf."

Spectators walk past Blackrock House and its "for sale" sign.

Originally part of a row of cottages, this four-bedroom, semi-detached home, located next to No. 16 Crosbie Road, predates the foundation of the Royal Troon Golf Club, which was established in 1878. The property has provided an exceptional vantage point for viewing the drama at the 16th and second holes, with the latter known as “Black Rock” in reference to the house.

The views also extend to the third, 17th, and 18th holes, where legends like Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson won the Claret Jug in 1962 and 1982, respectively. In 2020, it offered a rare glimpse into the Women’s British Open played behind closed doors due to the pandemic.

Woods putts on the second green during the first round.

“You can view five holes from the comfort of your home and have the club on your doorstep for your own play,” said Annabel Blackett of Strutt and Parker.

The sellers are the children of David and Isabel Kelly, who enjoyed the home for 30 years, watching three Open Championships, including Henrik Stenson’s memorable win in 2016. As Andrew Kelly mentioned, “This will be a bittersweet Open for us,” adding, “We were going to sell it anyway, so we decided to put it on the market during the Open, as it's probably the best time to do so.”
