Drew Barrymore thanks Adam Sandler for his unwavering support and enthusiasm for her show, highlighting their long friendship and his key role in her career.

Drew Barrymore recently expressed her gratitude for one of her talk show's most devoted supporters: Adam Sandler. At a special event at The Paley Center titled An Evening With Drew Barrymore, she revealed that Sandler has been a steadfast fan of The Drew Barrymore Show.

Barrymore shared that she recently visited Adam Sandler's home and discovered that he often watches her show and sends her photos of himself enjoying it. She described these photos as showing him with his feet up in front of the TV, demonstrating his enthusiasm.

The friendship between Barrymore and Sandler dates back several decades, and they have starred together in hit films such as The Wedding Singer (1998), 50 First Dates (2004), and Blended (2014). Barrymore credited Sandler’s encouragement with giving her the confidence to continue with her talk show, especially during its initial phase.

She recounted how Sandler’s support was pivotal when she questioned her career direction. “His belief in me was incredibly reassuring,” Barrymore said. Sandler not only supported her through various stages, including the pilot and sales tape of the show, but also traveled to Boston for an interview with her.

In addition to Sandler’s support, Barrymore highlighted the encouragement she received from Cameron Diaz, who appeared on the show alongside Lucy Liu during its 2020 debut. Barrymore emphasized that true friends show up for each other, and Sandler’s participation was a major affirmation of her decision to move forward with the show.

Sandler has made several return appearances on Barrymore’s show, including a notable segment in 2022 where he joined her in a segment called Drewber and reflected on their past film together. Sandler fondly recalled their time working together, saying, “We had an incredible time creating that movie.”
