Red Dead Redemption might be making its debut on PC soon, following persistent rumors. Notable leaker Wario64 discovered a PlayStation Store page with the following details:
"Immerse yourself in the epic western saga that shaped a generation — now available on PC for the very first time."
The description outlines that former outlaw John Marston must hunt down his old gang after federal agents threaten his family. Players will traverse the vast American West and Mexico as Marston seeks to escape his dark past. The game includes the iconic Undead Nightmare expansion, turning the world into a survival horror against zombies.
The PC version will feature the complete single-player experiences of both the original game and its Game of the Year Edition, with enhancements such as higher resolutions, better frame rates, multiple display support, and spatial surround sound. However, the product page mistakenly lists PlayStation 4 as the platform and August 17, 2023 as the release date, aligning with the PS4 launch.
Despite these features, the PC release seems to be a straightforward port rather than a significant remaster. Rockstar hasn’t used the Red Dead Redemption 2 engine, and the updates are limited to visual improvements rather than a full overhaul. Nevertheless, modders may enhance the game further once it’s available.
