In a recent episode of The View, Sara Haines mistakenly knocked over mints while discussing Trump, creating a hilarious moment reminiscent of the iconic bell incident.

On a recent episode of The View, cohost Sara Haines created a memorable moment reminiscent of the infamous Whoopi Goldberg bell incident from 2019, even though neither Goldberg nor her bell was present.

The episode began with Haines passionately addressing a point related to Charlamagne tha God, who criticized the media for being too lenient on Donald Trump. Caught up in her argument, Haines accidentally knocked over a bowl of mints at the Hot Topics table, mistaking it for Goldberg's iconic bell used to quiet the discussion.

Haines expressed concern, saying, “The worst thing I think the media does is minimize the danger of Donald Trump by mocking him.” This prompted Joy Behar to question, "Who's mocking him?"

Ana Navarro chimed in, claiming, “Me, I mock him constantly.” Haines pressed on, emphasizing that laughing at Trump was not normalizing him but rather diminishing the seriousness of his impact, recalling how the media played into his narrative during the 2016 election.

As Behar interjected, Haines grew frustrated, exclaiming, “You guys, is anyone listening to me? Seriously!” In her attempt to gesture for the bell, she inadvertently hit the bowl of mints instead, realizing, “Oh, shoot, I thought that was the bell. Went for the bell and got a Tic Tac instead!”

Alyssa Farah Griffin humorously noted, “Whoopi's bell isn't here!” while Behar lightened the mood by quipping, “We need some Ativan over here!” The sound of mints clinking back into the bowl added to the comedic atmosphere.

This amusing incident, dubbed the Mint Bowl Massacre of 2024, follows another memorable moment from the previous year when Haines, Goldberg, and an unexpected water spill created chaos at the Hot Topics table, all while a mysterious fart noise echoed in the background.

The View is broadcast every weekday at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.
