New John Wick TV Series in the Works: Will Keanu Reeves Return?

Exciting news for John Wick fans: a new TV series, titled John Wick: Under the High Table, is in development. Lionsgate Television is working on the show and is currently looking for buyers, as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly. This series will continue the story right after the events of John Wick: Chapter 4, which concluded with Wick’s apparent death and a tombstone bearing his name.

Under the High Table is set to be a high-energy action series, diving into the criminal underworld led by the High Table—a central element in the John Wick universe. The show will introduce new characters while also featuring familiar faces from the franchise, blending fresh narratives with the established world.

Unlike its prequel, The Continental, which was set in the John Wick universe but had a different creative team, this new series will be overseen by the same team behind the films. Chad Stahelski, director of all four John Wick films, will serve as an executive producer and direct the pilot episode. Robert Levine, known for The Old Man and Black Sails, will be the showrunner.

Keanu Reeves is also attached as an executive producer for the series. However, it remains unclear if Reeves will reprise his role as Wick. Last year, when asked about Wick’s potential return, Reeves hinted at a possibility but emphasized that he would only return if Chad Stahelski is involved. The series will bring back some of the franchise’s key characters, which might include Ian McShane’s Winston.

In addition to this series, Reeves is set to appear in the upcoming Ballerina film, starring Ana de Armas, and another spinoff focused on Donnie Yen’s character Caine. Reeves is also preparing for his Broadway debut in a 2025 production of Waiting for Godot, alongside Alex Winter.
