Scott Peterson breaks his silence in "Face to Face with Scott Peterson" on Peacock. The docuseries covers his infamous case and new claims of innocence.

Convicted murderer Scott Peterson has finally broken his silence in a new three-part Peacock true crime docuseries titled "Face to Face with Scott Peterson." Scheduled to debut on August 20, the series marks Peterson’s first on-camera interview since 2003.

In this docuseries, Peterson will discuss the infamous murders of his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son, Conner. The teaser trailer released on Monday features jailhouse footage of Peterson, although he does not speak in those clips. The actual interviews, conducted by series director Shareen Anderson, will present Peterson’s side of the story.

This series comes as the Los Angeles Innocence Project reexamines Peterson’s case in light of the 20th anniversary of his conviction. The organization argues that Peterson's constitutional rights were violated and new evidence supports his claims of innocence. Peterson was convicted of murder in 2004, initially sentenced to death, but later had his sentence commuted to life in prison without parole.

The producers of the Peacock docuseries emphasize that, despite ongoing belief in his guilt, Peterson’s family and experts have spent over two decades uncovering evidence inconsistencies and exploring alternative theories about Laci's murder.
